At Chesterfield County Rural Water Co., Inc., our goal is to provide safe, clean, and uninterrupted water service to all of our residents!
Chesterfield County Rural Water Co., Inc. (CCRWC) was founded in 1968. We are a private, not-for-profit, member owned corporation. We are not part of state or county government and do not receive any tax revenue. We operate only on revenues collected for water and water related services.
CCRWC serves rural Chesterfield County with the exception of the Town of Cheraw, Town of Patrick, and the southwestern portion around the Town of McBee. This area is served by Alligator Water & Sewer Co. Alligator Water & Sewer can be reached at (843) 335-6464. CCRWC serves the towns of Mt. Croghan and Ruby including metering and billing. We provide water to the Town of Chesterfield and manage the town's water and sewer system. CCRWC also supplies water to the towns of Jefferson and Pageland, although they manage their respective systems.
Excluding the various towns, CCRWC serve approximately 8,500 active members. The CCRWC system includes approximately 1,100 miles of water line in roughly an 800 square mile area. CCRWC employees Kellahan Brothers Engineering, located in Kingstree, SC, for system design and engineering, and Phillips, Currin and Company, located in Hartsville, SC, for CPA and auditing services. William O. Spencer, Jr. of the Spencer Law Firm in Chesterfield provides legal services for the water company.
CCRWC has a Board of Directors consisting of a Chairperson and eight members. Board meetings are held at 6:00 PM on the second Thursday of each month at the CCRWC office. The annual meeting of the members is held on the first Saturday of April. The location of the annual meeting is announced sixty days prior to the meeting date.
