SC Infrastructure Improvement Project (SCIIP) - Chesterfield County Regional Capacity Increase Project
This project included a new larger line (12”) on Hwy 1 from the metered connection with Alligator just east of Patrick to the Intersection of US 1 and Hwy 52 to just east of the bridge on Hwy 1 and 52. It replaced a number of smaller mixed diameter lines that were in this area. It also included a new 6” line on Teals Mill Road from Juniper Junction to the railroad overhead bridge to help augment flow to the central part of the county. The Hwy 9 portion of the project replaced the old 8” asbestos concrete line on Hwy 9 from the Hwy 9 elevated tank to just west of Airport Road in Pageland with a 12” ductile iron line.
Construction on the original Hwy 9 portion of the project is now complete and in service. The original Hwy 1 portion of the project is complete and operable. We are in the process of installing a new pressure reducing valve/meter pit installation near the intersection of Hwy 1 and Hwy 52 as an amendment to the original grant. This work should be complete by mid-April, 2026. The SCIIP Project was another joint project between CCRWC, Chesterfield County, and the SC Rural Infrastructure Authority.
Rural Infrastructure Authority Grant – Lynches River Industrial Park Water Supply Project - COMPLETE
This project consisted of two new sections of 12" water main (On Pageland-Whitestore Road and Hwy 601) to help supply additional water to the Lynches River Industrial Park on Hwy 601, north of Pageland. These new additions bolstered the water supply in the western portion of the county and helped to provide additional water for the new growth in that area. This project was a collaborative effort between Chesterfield County, SC Rural Infrastructure Authority, and CCRWC. Since CCRWC is not eligible to be the recipient of Rural Infrastructure Authority (RIA) grants/loans, Chesterfield County applied for this grant on behalf of CCRWC. This project is now complete and in operation.
Community Development Block Grant - Hillian-Edwards Road Project
Last year CCRWC submitted documentation through Chesterfield County and the Pee Dee Council of Government (COG) for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) to fund a line extension on Hillian-Edwards Road between Chesterfield and Cheraw. This grant has been approved, bid, and the contract awarded. This project is currently under construction and should be completed by early summer 2026.
High Point Elevated Tank - COMPLETE
CCRWC just completed the exterior painting and refurbishment of the 250,000 gallon High Point Elevated Water Tank on Tory Road, west of Pageland. This tank was erected around 2004 and this is its first exterior refurbishment since construction.
